Screen installation tool
thingiverse
I needed a new screen in my screen door and knew exactly what I had to do - replace it. I could have bought this tool online for about $15CAD where I live, but that's not the point. I didn't expect to use it often, and it had been a while since I designed something new, so I decided to take on the challenge. It works perfectly now after lightly sanding the hole in the wheel. The whole process was much easier than expected. If you want to modify this design, just click here to get the link: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/8ea4e8c1e4af8910ff0e912e/w/c9bd956c712a05e8eab55573/e/ef678667cab52b3bc15f4501. I have to say that I really enjoy working with OnShape.com. I discovered it through the Artisan's Asylum when they were still in the prototype stage, and since then they've been constantly improving features - it works perfectly for my use cases. To get the best results, print the axle on the flattened side to maximize strength - that was the intention behind this design. I printed with 75% infill to make it strong, and now it's very rigid.
