Screamers Screamer Pillar A fungal zombie miniature for 28mm games. Pre-supported and unsupported files included. Also includes a simple printable figure base. Screamers are dead bodies that have been animated by glowing radioactive fungus. The fungus itself takes in a lot of air, which it forces through the corpse’s lungs and out through its throat, causing it to emit a constant screaming sound. As zombies go, they aren’t stealthy at all, but they are deadly. They give off a fair amount of radiation, and anyone killed by a screamer is also infected by the fungus, animating as a screamer as well. Every so often, a Screamer becomes overgrown with fungus, and loses the ability to move at all. In these cases, a Screamer Pillar is created. It can still attack and attempt to grab anything foolish enough to come close, and the overgrowth of fungus makes it highly radioactive. Dark-Platypus Studio specializes in making models for role-playing game enthusiasts. Our models are designed to be printed in 28mm scale, the perfect size for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, or other games that are often played on a 1” grid. They are also designed to stand up to actual tabletop use: no ridiculous spindly bits that look awesome but are going to break the first time someone sneezes. Paintability and ease of assembly are also important concerns to our design aesthetic. I sculpted these Screamer zombies for use in our Gen Con/Origins Mutant Crawl Classics adventure scenario ‘Bob-Dar and the Quest for the Golden Treat’, but they have never been released before now! Stats for them appear in the Mutant Crawl Classics RPG core rulebook.
