Scratching post wall brackets

Scratching post wall brackets

This design builds on RafaelEstevam's customizable srew/nut clip with some key modifications. The goal is to create a sturdy cat scratching post by attaching a cardboard shipping tube to the wall. To get started, print two brackets and secure each one to the wall using two screws per bracket. Next, insert threaded rods through the bracket arm holes and into corresponding holes drilled into the cardboard tube. Finally, attach the nuts and washers to hold everything in place. I ended up using leftover Ikea hardware that I had on hand from a previous project. For optimal results, use a high infill setting when printing these brackets, as they will be supporting a significant amount of weight - namely the cardboard tube wrapped in sisal rope, not to mention the added weight of our feline friend.
