Scraper Head for Broom Handle
prusaprinters
A beefy scraper head compatible with most broom handles. I needed to scrape away some abandoned paper wasp nests high in the eaves of my house, but I didn't have anything that could do the job. I did have a telescoping pole with a broom-head thread at the end, and after a quick session in Fusion 360, I made this scraper.I printed mine using a 0.6mm nozzle, variable layer height (you want detail on the threads, but the main body can be very coarse) using blue Hatchbox PETG. I used 6 perimeters and 20% infill, which was probably overkill--this thing feels strong. I would also advise printing at the upper end of the temperature range for your filament, as higher temperatures tend to make for strong parts.Important note: in theory broom handles are threaded using ACME ¾" threads, with 5 threads per inch. But a lot of broom handle connectors have a lot of slop in them. To check if this scraper will fit your particular broom handle, I have included a small “thread test” part that uses a lot less filament than the entire scraper. If your initial test doesn't fit, try scaling the entire part by 5-10% up or down as needed. Thanks for reading, and I'd love to see your makes!
