Scotty mount PVC Fishing Pole Holder
thingiverse
This is a Scotty Mount (male end) where you can attach 1-1/4 inch (1.25") 1120 SDR 26 Pipe lengths to create a fishing pole holder for a kayak, canoe, or anything else. I suggest printing with about 75% infill using ABS because it can be cemented to PVC using the right cement, found in most hardware stores - just look for one that says PVC and ABS. This type of cement is shown in an attached photo. ABS will also withstand heat and outdoor elements better than PLA. This design is fully customizable with all variables at the top of the OpenSCAD file. You can adjust as necessary if your printer differs from mine. I created this because other Scott mount male-end STL files on Thingiverse didn't quite fit in my mounts when printed from my printer. As a result, you should be able to use this imitated Scotty mount male-end base for various things by changing the code in the ScottyTop() module. Also note that this mount base has a cut-out for a 1/4" hex bolt to strengthen the base and allow attachment of other pieces. If you don't need the cut out, you can modify the file to remove it or melt some ABS in acetone to fill the hole, strengthening your mount male-end. I'd love to hear how you reuse this file.
