Scotty Dogz
thingiverse
Scotty Dogz are a compact, easy one-piece print with a springy moving head and tail that measures 50mm long / 38mm high / 10mm thick at standard scale. They require minimal filament and print quickly, making them an ideal choice for time-conscious makers. Use a Raft to ensure smooth removal from the build plate, as it is not necessary but highly recommended to prevent damage to the thin flat springs that enable head and tail movement. These prints perform exceptionally well on Replicator 2's and 5th Generation Replicators. Immediately after removing the Raft, the head and tail should spring forward and backward. PLA prints work fine on most accurate machines with good setup and slicing applications that bridge effectively. However, some printers and slicing software may struggle with fine clearances and internal surfaces necessary for printing movable parts. Print multiple Scotty Dogz in your favorite colors for fun pets to have around the house or as popular gifts. For additional information, refer to the print settings and post images of your prints. Printer Settings: * Printer Brand: MakerBot * Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) * Rafts: Yes * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.20mm / Standard in PLA * Infill: 2 Shells / 35% infill recommended Notes: Use a Raft for easy removal and to prevent damage during the process. Avoid using support, as it may fuse the internal springs, rendering them immobile. Post-Printing: Carefully remove the Raft, and your Scotty Dogz's tail and head should spring into action immediately.
