Scotty and RAM 1" Ball Mounts

My colleague recently acquired a Chart Plotter/GPS/Fish-finder for his fishing boat, which comes equipped with several Scotty Mounts. He asked if I could design and print a Scotty to RAM 1" Ball adaptor, so I took on the task. Here are the results: two Scotty to RAM 1" Ball Mounts have been designed. One features a solid ball for added security, while the other has an open design that allows for the insertion of an M8X80 screw for extra reinforcement. I intentionally aimed to create a design that would withstand harsh sea conditions and prevent the RayMarine from being lost overboard. In addition to the Scotty mounts, I also created a simple RAM 1" Ball mount. This design was printed using PETG material and optimized for printing without support structures. I experimented with two different layer thicknesses: .2 and .15 mm. To enhance strength, I used four perimeter layers and infill densities of 40% and 50%. The Scotty mounts are designed to provide a snug fit with minimal play. However, it's possible that you may need to adjust your print settings or scale the design in X and Y dimensions to achieve the desired fit.
