Scottoiler Dual Injector mount for Honda CB650F / CBR650F
thingiverse
This bracket mounts the Scottoiler Dual Injector on Honda's CB650F and CBR650F motorcycle (2014-now). The bracket plugs into the hole at the bottom of the swingarm, attaching to the rearmost chain guard mounting bolt. Most of the bracket is hidden inside the swingarm, with only small parts visible from outside, and the Scottoiler injector tucked away neatly below the swingarm. Mounting feels very rigid and strong. As an outdoor part, I recommend printing with black ABS (with carbon black for added UV resistance) or ASA filament. PET might also work well. PLA wouldn't be suitable due to its tendency to degrade in UV light, and it likely can't be bent enough to snap the bracket around the swingarm. **Mounting** - Remove the chain guard - Insert a self-locking M6 nut (I recommend using stainless hardware) into the hexagonal opening on the bracket - Optional: drill out the threads on the rearmost chain guard mounting hole with a 6.5mm drill bit (6mm is also good, but it's nice to have some play there). This allows you to tighten the bracket using the bolt from outside, but if you don't want to modify the bike at all, you can use a longer bolt in the chain guard instead. The hex cutout on the bracket indexes the nut, so the bracket can't come off, but it won't be as rigid. - Mount the bracket onto the swingarm from inside. Start by inserting the round plug into the hole at the bottom of the swingarm, then carefully snap the top part towards the chain guard mounting hole while pushing upwards on the whole thing - Put the chain guard back on and use a longer bolt (35mm should do it) to reach the nut in the bracket - If the plug at the bottom won't fit into the hole easily, don't force it in but take the time to sand or file it down - otherwise, the bracket will be difficult to remove without cracking it - Mount the injector onto the bracket. If needed, you can use some washers to move the injector further towards the wheel - Check that your wheel can move freely. Especially check that the nuts and threads that mount the rear sprocket don't bump into (or come very close to) the bracket - Make sure you remember to check and adjust the injector position every time you adjust your chain slack Disclaimer: this iteration of the design is still printing, so I haven't fitted this exact design yet. I expect it to fit just fine with some minor print finishing though. This is a DIY vehicle modification that I decided to share with fellow tinkerers. Use at your own risk. Always check your drive chain and sprockets regularly, even with an automatic oiler. **Update:** fits perfectly :)
