Scott Summers' Badge from X-Men: Apocalypse

My very first design takes shape as a 3D print, a prop that's sure to impress! I forgot to factor in tolerances, so the cross piece came out at 97% size - a minor detail that didn't detract from the overall impact. I created this for my friend's 'Scott Summers' Halloween costume, and it was the perfect addition. While having the official Ray-Bans from the movie was awesome, I knew I could do more to enhance the outfit. So, I offered to design and add another prop to really make the costume shine. The print itself was a breeze on my trusty CR-10 Mini, using Hatchbox PETG for durability and smoothness. The exterior piece came out beautifully, requiring only minimal sanding to preserve its beveled detail. A few strokes with small sanding sticks and needle files were all it took to maintain the intricate center design. To attach the badge securely, I used JB Weld to create a strong bond, paired it with magnetic clasps from an old purse, and finished it off with a heavy-duty clothespin for added stability.
