Human Model type: urban; large-scale, low-detail. VR-ready There are two main problems with using only ground-based capture: the angle of the sensor (DSLR camera) relative to the subject (buildings) means that ground surfaces (roads and pavements) end up being captured at a glancing angle, making them more reflective and shiny, which reduces their chances of detection in software. Secondly, all surfaces that are hidden from view as a pedestrian (such as roofs and window sills) also fail to make it into the final model. Both these limitations - limited ground coverage and missing rooftops - are evident here. Inputs: Flickr A 3D reconstruction was produced in 3DF Zephyr v4.507 using 6518 images
