Scotch Tape Dispenser with Optional Magnetic Mount

Scotch Tape Dispenser with Optional Magnetic Mount

thingiverse

This one prints up without supports, with the mounting magnet being an optional addition. The plastic cutter functions adequately, but a brass or aluminum version might prove to be more effective. The magnet cutout accommodates a 12mm round magnet of any depth between 2-12mm. I employed a 3mm deep x 12mm round magnet, attaching it after printing with glue. ProTip: Apply a swatch of super glue to the circular portion of the cutter where the tape meets it, creating a better surface area for the tape to adhere to. Scotch tape does not bond well with PLA, but it adheres exceptionally well to cured super glue. Update - Two new versions of the main body now exist, featuring cutting teeth integrated into the print itself, eliminating the need for a separate cutter. Look for the file tapeDispenserBodyMinimalist02.stl for coarse cut (6 teeth) and tapeDispenserBodyMinimalist03.stl for fine cut (12 teeth).
