hello, this is a redone version of my prototype y6 3 inch frame drone https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5229940 in my prototype post i stated i wasnt gonna update the design and i havent test flown it, but i guess i lied lol. i have flown it on the prototype frame and it flies quite nice! ON defualt cli from fc! there is two styles to choose from. you have the v1 frame and v2 frame. major difference is in the frames tails. so you can choose a frame and then proceed with the bot plate, arm motor plates but choose the correct tail motor plate! v1 tail plate for v1 body, v2 tail plate for v2 body. youll need: body v1 or v2 (2mm thickness) make sure you have the option to have it cut with a 1mm bit, there is some 1mm fillets i used. 4X arm motor plates (1.5mm thickness) again 1mm cutting bit 2X tail motor plates (1.5mm thick) 1mm cutting bit 1X bot plate (1 or 1.5mm thick) the drone guts i used: flywoo hex nano f4 stack kababs fpvcycle 1303 motors, kv suited for 2s, but you can do 3s so chose 3s kv motors vtx i used came with my flywoo stack. awesome thing to know is the bot plate can have anything thats 16x16mm mounted onto it!!!! camera i used the ant nano. VERY IMPORTANT for motor mounting, the heads of the screws arent ideal for each motor to have 4 screws, or even 3. so youll want to mount the motor by 2 diagonal screws, and the opposite motor will have the opposite diagonal mounting. i am gonna place an order soon so i can test fly these designs, i feel itll be better than my prototype, lighter too. hardware youll likely need, in theory, the drone will be 23mm talls, should be plenty of clearance for the bottom motors. ive purchased 20mm nylon standoffs for weight saving. i fly passive so i am going to try using nylon screws for the standoffs. to attach the motor plates to the frame i used 6mm m2 screws (metal) with nylon lock m2 nuts. use the smallest screws your motors accept without touching the windings, the motor plates are 1mm thick. the cavity for the fc and esc will be 20mm space. also the bot plate can use 16x16 mounting so if you want, mount any 16x16 vtx down there. or if you dare your fc and esc. im using elrs ep2 rx so i havent figured out a good antenna placement for diversity rx's but there are two slots in the body where the tail starts for zipties or use to secure the battery leads from the fc. im still gonna figure out minor tweeks to optimize this small build.
