This object is a stunning portrayal of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. The creative spark for this piece was ignited by the upcoming release of Mortal Kombat X on consoles. As one of the most iconic characters in the series, Scorpion has been a mainstay since the first game, featuring among the initial seven playable characters and making appearances in every subsequent installment as well as films. With a complex history, "Scorpion" is the alias of Hanzo Hasashi, a former top warrior from the Shirai Ryu, a highly skilled Japanese ninja clan. Following his brutal murder by Sub-Zero, a member of the Lin Kuei Chinese assassin clan, Scorpion was resurrected as a hellspawned revenant in the Netherealm and is driven by a fierce desire for vengeance against those responsible for the destruction of his family and clan. Although not beholden to any particular allegiance, Scorpion will form alliances with anyone who can aid him in achieving his goal of revenge. He once made a pact with Quan Chi, offering his life in exchange for extraordinary combat skills in order to vanquish Sub-Zero.
