"Scorpion 2" Camera TriCopter Airframe
thingiverse
Introducing "Scorpion 2", a tricopter co-designed by Ricardo Fernandez and the author, with a GoPro mount directly on its body. This versatile tricopter is capable of FPV flight and excellent footage capture. An updated version, "Scorpion 3," featuring carbon fiber landing gear mounts and internal electronics/wiring, is slated for testing in early January. To assemble the tricopter, use provided parts from R/C hobby stores and hardware shops under $50. Attach motors and spars with appropriate bolts and nuts, secure servos with wood screws, and connect the Flight Control Board using Yaw Gyro Protector for fragile KKmulticopter v5.5 boards. Secure battery with velcro straps or zipties. Refer to image renderings for guidance throughout the assembly process. Optional electronics include a GoPro Hero 3 camera and a 5.8 GHz FPV system, while the total cost (excluding GoPro and FPV) is approximately $250. Stay tuned for final build photos soon!
