Astrodyne industries F-92 "Scorpedo" is a space superiority fighter manufactured in the early 22nd century. This version is designed to fit around a BT-50 body tube and fly on a D sized motor. The parts include a thrust ring but do NOT include a motor retention system. I used the spring steel from an old wiper blade to make my own engine hook and wrapped a piece of body tube around where the hook goes through the body tube. It flew well on a D12-5 but the nosecone separated at ejection and the body came in ballistically, taking a nice core sample of the field we launched in. But that wasn't a problem with the design as much as me failing to attached the shock cord well enough. The included video should give you an idea of how well it flies, though. NOTE: The photo is from an earlier design built around a BT-20 (18mm) body tube, but the model is too heavy to fly on even a C sized motor, so I made the included re-design around a BT-50 (24mm) body tube because the weight was well within a D motors capabilities. UPDATE: (2020/11/14) Added a one piece fuselage in case you have a printer tall enough to print it that way. UPDATE: (2020/11/19) Made a slight increase in the diameter of the "bore" of the fuselage pieces so they fit over the body tube better. Video of launch (pardon my "French", but it flew better than I expected)... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T0qkq6VWZA
