Scope Throw Lever / Cat Tail : Vortex Diamondback HP 3-12x42

This is my throw lever design for the excellent quality/design/value Vortex Diamondback HP 3-12x42 scope. It should work perfectly with the other two models in the Diamondback HP line: the 2-7x32 and 4-16x42 scopes, but I haven't tested it yet. Follow my profile if you want to receive notifications when I post new parts. The hardware for this project is a #6 nut/washer/screw with a 1/2" length. I prefer using a nylon-insert locknut over an ordinary nut because it sticks out just enough not to be annoying, and it's easier to install. You can find these bits at any hardware or home improvement store, and I recommend getting the stainless versions - they're cheaper in bulk. Here's a helpful tip for installing the hardware: pull the hexagonal nut recess down into place with the screw. If you have a longer screw handy (like 3/4"), it will make this task easier, but I was able to do it with just a 1/2" screw after some practice. You may need to trim a small amount of plastic from the interior of the ring where it meets the printer bed/surface. My printer is calibrated to mash the first layer pretty hard onto the glass, so this creates a small lip that needs to be trimmed off for the part to slip over the rear of the scope. You can do this easily with a pocket knife or an X-acto - just be careful not to hurt your fingers! Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerGear Printer: MakerGear M2 Rafts: Yes Supports: No Infill: 40% Notes: 4x bottom, 4x top, 3x outline, 40% fill, PLA "Plus". If you're using PLA, I recommend the "Plus" stuff because it's tougher and more elastic than regular PLA. This design would work well in PETG too, but I haven't tested it yet - the sizes might need to be tweaked for shrinkage differences.
