The Red Squirrel. Sciurus vulgaris is its scientific name, bestowed by Linnaeus in the year 1758. This small mammal goes by many names, including red squirrel and Eurasian red squirrel. MZB 2003-0512 holds a special mandible, measuring 17.9 x 23.9 x 33.3 millimeters in size. The specimen is male and was collected on July 28th, 2002, from Torroella de Fluvià, Barcelona, Spain.
