Sci-fi Explosive Grenade

Here is one of the grenades I modeled based on Juan Novelletto's concept art. This was my first project working directly from concept, a thrilling yet demanding experience. Limited views of the objects left room for creative interpretation, and I relied heavily on numerous references to fill in any uncertain areas. The process mirrored that of my other pieces. I created high and low poly meshes in 3DS Max, then transferred them to Substance Painter for baking and texturing. Rather than modeling every detail from scratch, I utilized the software's hard surface inserts to replicate subtle features on each grenade. Finally, I used Photoshop to design decals for both grenades. I'm grateful to Juan Novelletto for granting me permission to use his work as inspiration.
