Sci-fi Crate
thingiverse
I was browsing online for some awesome sci-fi props the other day and decided to create a sci-fi themed box that I can use. I drew it up in 123D Design, which is honestly the best software ever made. I designed it to work seamlessly with these cool hinges I discovered on Amazon. The plan is to print out the design and then secure everything together using hot glue. Next, I'll attach the hinges somehow - I left some space for that part, but I'm still deciding between hot gluing them or drilling into the print and adding springs. Additionally, I plan to add a nice touch by gluing plexiglass to the inside of the little windows, which will not only create a great look but also save me a lot of filament in the process. The idea is that with the indent inside, I can use hot glue and still achieve a fantastic appearance.
