Schütteldose - counting pieces

This container will hold approximately ten pieces of eighter noodles, nuts, cherry pits, or other small objects. Instructions for use include: 1. Fill the box with exactly ten items. 2. Securely close the box to prevent contents from escaping. 3. Shake the box vigorously, causing some items to transfer to a separate compartment on one side while others remain on the opposite side. 4. Open the container carefully to avoid spilling its contents. 5. Our first-grade students will attempt to estimate the number of items remaining in each compartment without actually counting them. This activity is designed to enhance their ability to recognize and interpret numerical quantities.
