Schwinn Tricycle Pedal
thingiverse
This is a replacement pedal for a kid's Schwinn tricycle, designed to overcome the limitations of the original plastic clamshell pedals. The original design features a protrusion that fits into a notch in the metal pedal shaft, but this protrusion tends to bend quickly, causing the pedals to come loose from the shaft. A more robust solution is provided by the replacement pedal's reinforced protrusion and bolted assembly. Print Settings: Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 100% Notes: Two identical copies of this design should be printed, using M3 bolts and nuts with washers to secure them together. The bolt heads serve as a makeshift tread, but it would have been better to add actual tread for improved traction if the design were to be revised. A step file is included for those who want to modify or remix this pedal. As the original pedals wear down, the friction introduced by the protrusion in the groove makes them stiff and difficult to turn. However, as that material wears away, it becomes easier to rotate the pedals.
