The protective cap shields the contacts of the lower battery holder. The plug is for securing, in case the wind lifts the cap off during bike transport. The plug is printed with TPU. Into the recess, 2 mm thick foam tape (60 x 8) is glued to protect the frame. The groove on the photo is a printing error. It is therefore not in the model.
