Schumacher Cougar/Storm 2000 Battery Strap
thingiverse
This battery strap is designed as a modified version of the Schumacher Cougar/Storm 2000 series strap. The original battery strap was designed to be used on one side for a "standard"/pre-assembled battery pack or flipped over to engage with the shape of a side-by-side Sub-C battery pack. Standard Lipo battery packs are taller (~2 mm) and obviously have a boxy shape, so circular features are not needed. The strap has been adjusted slightly to compensate but may still be a little loose. I have also added an adjustable feature/part to set the rear position for a shorty pack, but that is still a bit of a work in progress. I have also added a feature on the underside to attach adhesive backed foam to add for some grip. The part can be used without any of those things, but you will need foam to set your position in the battery area of the chassis. NOTES: There are parts available that mimic the old circular side-by-side battery design to go over the top of a low profile shorty/full length lipo pack. I am working on a version of the strap that retains those features for those who want the classic design but it may be a bit. I am still working on some parts to center the battery pack in the chassis. The chassis was originally designed to narrow down in the rear which helped to center the pack, but with shorty packs that does not really work. For now, I am using the strap with foam around the pack to set position.
