Schumacher CAT XLS/Procat Upper Deck/Servo Mount
thingiverse
Front servo/upper deck mount for the Schumacher CAT XLS/Procat. Hardware required: QTY=2 M3 X 6 button head screws (RH side) QTY=3 M3 X 8 button head screws (LH side and servo) The original design uses 2 separate posts to attach the upper deck to the lower chassis and uses the same part for both posts. The RH post will interfere in many cases with the exit wires on a standard size servo. A low profile servo can be used, post can be ommitted or the post can be modified. When the Bosscat was introduced, Schumacher modified this design with a one-piece design, which provided more clearance to the servo wire. This design mimics that design - but is shorter (due to the different belt configuration). It mimics the styling of that part and has been modified to use M3 hardware. A couple of design notes: -The mount was designed based on a re-release Procat. My upper deck had hole spacing of 19.5 mm (laterally), and my lower deck had spacing of 20 mm. The original may match this, but it is a bit strange (maybe it was an attempt to avoid assembly issues, due to the almost symmetric nature of the parts). I originally designed the part for 20 mm spacing and was able to assemble it, so I do not expect that being off by 0.5 mm will be an issue but it is something to monitor. The design is based on the 19.5/20 mm upper/lower pattern. -I also revised the mounting hardware to match M3 hardware vs the original No. 4 self-tapping screws. I did not have any low profile No. 4 screws which would also help with clearance to the servo wires, so I matched hole sizing to M3 fasteners. If it is an issue, the holes can be resized to No. 4 pretty easily (STEP file is included). -The wires exiting the servo will likely touch the mount, but it should reduce the strain/bend on the wires considerably. Tap the mounting holes with a M3 tap and use M3 hardware to attach to the chassis.
