Manufactured by Schneider et Cie society for World War I, six of them were sold to Spain in 1921 after the war; between 1923 and 1926 they were used during the Rif War, destined for Morocco until 1929 when the survivors were transferred to the Peninsula. Of the four survivors displayed at the Central Shooting School in Camp, Madrid, three were used in combat by the government side at the start of the Spanish Civil War; one was sent to attack the Cuartel de la Montaña, two others participated in the siege of the Alcázar de Toledo, where one was destroyed and the other returned to Madrid. The only surviving vehicle is preserved at the Musée des Blindés in Saumur and it remains the oldest tank in working order worldwide.
