Schloss Solitude Stuttgart
sketchfab
Solitude Castle was built between 1763 and 1769 by Johann Friedrich Weyhing and Philippe de La Guêpière as a hunting and representation castle for Duke Carl Eugen of Württemberg. In 1858, Solitude became part of the Gerlingen community in Württemberg. It wasn't until April 1, 1942 that Solitude was merged into the city of Stuttgart. Since 1956, the Solitude area has been part of the Stuttgart-West district in Stuttgart. The castle or Eremitage Solitude is situated on a long, sloping hill ridge between Leonberg, Gerlingen and the Stuttgart districts of Weilimdorf and Botnang. Built right at the northern edge of its slope, it offers a view to the north into the Württemberg Unterland towards Ludwigsburg.
