Schlage Deadbolt Lockout

Schlage Deadbolt Lockout

thingiverse

I'm getting a deck on my house replaced later this week, and I don't want anyone to accidentally walk out the door when there's no deck there, so I designed and printed this little thing to keep the deadbolt in a locked position. If your deadbolt stays in the locked position in the other direction, you'll have to print it as a mirror image. Disclaimer: Don't use this long-term to lock your doors from the inside. If you have a fire in your house and can't get out because this piece is on your deadbolt, I'm not responsible. It *should* be pretty easy to defeat (i.e. break) in a panic situation, but it's not designed to do so. Only use this when the door is otherwise obstructed (like if it opens out to nothing) or your space is unoccupied.
