Early 2014, Diet Wiegman shattered some of his initial creations and handed over the resulting shards to artists, daring them to craft a new work using a fragment of their choice. For the exhibition "Scherven brengen Kunst" in Pand Paulus in Schiedam, Aldo Hoeben selected shard number 103, consisting of earthenware and polyurethane foam. Embracing Diet Wiegman's challenge, Aldo Hoeben utilized 100 images of the shard to create a precise three-dimensional scan of the original fragment number 103, before destroying the actual shard under Diet's watchful eye. Only the digital duplicate of the shard remains intact. This virtual shard is showcased in the exhibition "Scherven brengen Kunst" in virtual reality.
