"Schematic" Chess Set

This chess set design is a creative reinterpretation of schematic chess drawings. I was captivated by the symbolic representations of chess pieces, which sparked my desire to see if they could be transformed into a functional set. Following the development process, I modeled the individual pieces and then added pedestals to the knight, bishop, queen, and king to ensure that the hierarchical structure was clearly defined. Without these bases, the pawn would have towered above the monarchs. What I find particularly intriguing is how the elaborate headpieces on the bishop, queen, and king reflect their distinct roles in the game.
