Museum Lunteren - Waterpump from the Middle Ages Dating: 975-1050 This object is a remnant of a well that belonged to a farm. This farm was inhabited during the high Middle Ages and dates back between 975-1050 AD. It's possible that the farm was part of a larger settlement. Large villages were not common, only a few farms. From this could have come the core of the village Lunteren later on. The remains of the well show how wells were built and installed at that time. Also, the associated fragments of pottery provide information about the type of tableware used in the farm. More information: www.schatkamersvangelderland.nl Museum Lunteren: www.museumlunteren.nl
