The Museum Kasteel Wijchen - Badorf Tuitpot Dating back to 800 AD, this unique tuitpot is a remarkable artifact from the Carolingian era. During that time, Charlemagne ruled an extensive empire covering vast regions of Europe, including the Netherlands. The pot was discovered in 1968 during excavations on the Pas in Wijchen. Its completeness, following some restoration, makes it especially noteworthy. Typically, only a few shards are found. The pot was used for serving liquids and features a distinctive radial stamp decoration. For more information, visit https://erfgoedgelderland.nl/schatkamers-van-gelderland/.
