Schacht Bulky Bobbin - Easy Printing
thingiverse
This is a Schacht Bulky Bobbin for spinning wheels in an easily printable, modular format. The modular design allows for smooth surfaces on the whorls at the ends of the bobbins. There are three end styles: scotch, double-drive, and alternate. Normal bobbins come with both scotch tension and double-drive ends. Most people only use one specific end, so the "alternate" end can be used if only one end-type is desired. You can print ends for a bobbin or just one of scotch or double-drive as the end type. On my printer, I've found that glue isn't required for the pieces - they fit together quite snugly and don't need to be glued. The tolerances on the central bore hole are fairly close, so you might need to round out the outside diameter with a bit of flexing against the axle. If you make the central bore larger, it may make the bobbin rattle. Similarly, the outside diameter of the core and the inside diameters of the ends are close, so you may want a small amount of sanding on the ends of the core. I normally print at 0.2mm per layer and use supports for the ends so that the core and main pieces fit properly.
