Scepter - Elena of Avalor (luminous)
thingiverse
I designed this scepter for my daughter with the intention of making it easy to print and assemble. The big diamond was printed in vase mode using transparent PETG, while the smaller diamonds (buttons) were printed with blue clear PETG at a temperature of 215°C for a smooth and shiny finish. The other parts were printed from PLA with a layer thickness of 0.2 mm, and the thinner parts were printed with brim for better adhesion. Only Teil2 and diamond_bottom required support during printing. All parts are so small that they can be printed even in a small space, but they must be glued together after wiring. A joint is threaded to allow for easy battery changes. This scepter is constructed to run on 3 AA batteries, with 3 mini momentary switches wired and glued to the inner part. In the big diamonds fit 3 LED's 5mm in diameter, and resistors can be soldered directly to their connections. To assemble the scepter, gently glue the parts together to ensure easy battery insertion. Make sure there is no glue inside the inner space. To facilitate better battery insertion, I used a piece of plastic when screwing the parts together. For those interested in crafting this project, have fun and be creative! If you'd like to see the scepter in action, check out my YouTube video at https://youtu.be/aEVByrdd2hU. Update 24.03.2019: I made some changes to Teil5_shaft, removing the through hole and adding a shaft for better gluing together. Update 29.03.2019: I made some minor changes and optimisations, including adjustments to battery insertion and thread thickness. I've also updated the part names to xxxx_2. You can use these instead of the originals. Update 26.01.2020: My daughter has already broken the scepter twice between Teil5 and Teil6, so I combined both parts into a single file called Teil5und6.STL. I've also added an alternative rounded bottom section called Bottom.stl. Update 02.02.2020: I added a shorter bottom section for younger children, available as Teil5-short_end.STL.
