Scary Stairwell VR lowpoly photoscan environment
sketchfab
This scary room stairwell model was a photogrammetry scan that has been rebuilt as a real time low polygon game ready model. Its life began from over 900 photographs taken with tripod and remote control in RAW format with a Sony Alpha mirrorless camera with high quality lens. These very sharp photos were then run through Reality Capture software to export out a million polygon model. The scan is then imported into Maya 2017 and rebuilt with a mere 12 thousand polygons, clean unwrapped UV’s, and scaled to real world size. After this the clean model is re-imported into Reality Capture again to project back the photos giving you two 8k photo realistic textures. These textures are cleanly laid out, easy to edit in Photoshop, with a size of 8192x8192 square jpeg. This 3D model was featured in the Autodesk blog “Journey to VR”, used in over 30 tutorial videos in Maya, 3DSMax, and Unreal Engine. http://area.autodesk.com/blogs/journey-to-vr InteriorScanChallenge
