This stunning room stairwell model is a real-time low-polygon game-ready asset that originated from an extensive photogrammetry scan. The process began with the capture of over 900 photographs taken using a tripod and remote control in RAW format with a high-quality Sony Alpha mirrorless camera. These razor-sharp images were then fed into Reality Capture software to produce a detailed model boasting more than one million polygons. Next, the scan was imported into Maya 2017, where it underwent a transformation, emerging as a sleek, low-poly model consisting of just 12,000 polygons, complete with clean UV's and scaled to real-world dimensions. After this meticulous process, the refined model was re-imported into Reality Capture, which successfully projected back two exquisite 8K photo-realistic textures. These meticulously crafted textures are perfectly laid out for seamless editing in Photoshop, boasting a generous size of 8192x8192 square JPEGs. This remarkable 3D model has gained widespread recognition, gracing the Autodesk blog "Journey to VR" and being used in over 30 tutorial videos across Maya, 3DS Max, and Unreal Engine.
