Scarlet Letter - Tactile Writing Prompt

thingiverse

This design demonstrates a tactile writing prompt for Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel, The Scarlet Letter. It uses 3D-printed symbols to engage students in rich, meaningful discussions while teaching them about symbolism as a memory aid. The concept behind this lesson is explained in detail at designmaketeach.com/2013/05/17/tactile-writing-prompts/. Additionally, examples of tactile writing prompts for other books such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and The Hunger Games can be found on Thingiverse. The design was created using Netfabb Studio's trial version, printed at 150% scale, primed, and painted scarlet with acrylic paint.
