The ghost gets scared when the trick or treaters come to the door. It will hide it's eyes, and hope that the scary monsters go away. I covered the frame in a gauze like cloth to allow the PIR sensor to see through the cloth. The cloth needs to be tied to the frame, otherwise the PIR sensor will sometimes see the motion of the cloth as someone approaching, and close up the arms. I coded it so that the one arm will do a peek and if it sees someone is still there, will close that arm. (otherwise the arms tend to flap). The arms flat spots aren't long enough for the servo arm, this was for poking the arm into the end, to give it that extra strength. It uses an Arduino Nano without the header pins, and wires go the a dual row header that the servos are plugged into in the back. The servos are the Tower Pro 9g that are available everywhere. The PIR sensor is the HC-SR501 that is under a dollar. The sensitivity is turned WAY down, to only detect when the person is right in front of it. I zip tied the cloth in key locations. Hot glue might have worked better since it wouldn't be as visible from the outside. I built a USB breakout cable since the regulator on the Arduino Nano didn't power the two servos reliably. The 5V from the USB cable went straight to the servo header pins.
