Scarab Beetle Box (with secret lock)

The scarab beetle model boasts a compact design featuring a hidden compartment that can be accessed by pulling back a drawer and lifting up the beetle's wing case, revealing its secret interior. The box is securely locked when the wing case is closed and the drawer is pushed back into place. Inspired by the Egyptian Revival style of the 19th and early 20th centuries, this model takes creative liberties with ancient Egypt's symbolism. To learn more about this captivating era, visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art's webpage at http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/hd/erev/hd_erev.htm. The Egyptian Revival style is a visual treasure worth exploring, characterized by its elegance and striking beauty. In ancient Egyptian culture, the scarab beetle was an iconic symbol representing the sun god Ra's daily journey across the sky, as seen in the beetle's rolling motion with a ball of dung. My model presents a stylized beetle with the winged Ra deity situated between its two front feet. The entire design consists of 12 distinct parts that need to be carefully fitted together. All pieces print seamlessly without requiring any support. Additionally, my design features a personalized logo at the bottom of the model, adding an extra touch of personality. UPDATE: I have uploaded a revised drawer file, designated as "drawer_v3.stl," which addresses a noted issue where the original drawer had a tendency to fall open. However, this new version proved slightly too large, requiring some sanding to fit perfectly within the middle_part.stl file's dimensions. The revised drawer measures 12.45mm in height, aligning closely with the intended 12.5mm fitting. I extend my gratitude to MacGyver for initially pointing out the problem and Botmaster for bringing the second concern to my attention.
