Scarab

Scarab beetles dominated ancient Egypt's symbol market, embodying an extensive collection of artwork from that era. Most likely inspired by the god Khepri, they represented the rising or morning sun, and consequently, the creation and renewal of life. Scarabs in beetle form gained immense popularity during the early Middle Kingdom (circa 2000 BC) and maintained their status throughout the pharaonic period and beyond. Over time, scarabs underwent a series of transformations in function. Initially used as amulets, they also served as personal or administrative seals and were incorporated into jewelry pieces.
