Scans of Lotus Elise S2

Scans of Lotus Elise S2

Here are some rough representations of the Lotus Elise. Taken with the Creality CR scan 01. At some point I plan to scan the entire car. I include a scan of the rear transom grill so that a different 3D model can be made for 3D printing. I include a scan of the front oil cooler air inlet so that block off plates could be made (or even add shutters for adjustable airflow). I include a scan of the lower front lip so that 3D jigs can be made during FRP repair. In order to make 3D printable models, open these STL meshes in Meshmixer, highlight the part using the 'select' tool, and in the menu that pops up select 'edit-> offset' and select something like '-5mm' to extrude these surfaces into 5mm thick shells behind the scan surface. the shell can be used directly in a print, or it can be used in boolean operations to make negative mold/jig faces.
