You can open this model in 3DS Max 2010. There's a custom script that converts tris to quads on any model, it's included as a gift (vb_quadrangulate). A separate script is also available for retopology, which can be used on any model, but not specifically designed for this one - it's also a gift (instant meshes bridge + instant meshes). Format options include 3DS Max and OBJ.
