Scalpel case
thingiverse
This is the scalpel case we've been perfecting for a while now. Our goal was to create a secure container that can hold one, three or five scalpels safely inside. It must protect the scalpels from damage and securely keep them in place so they won't open or break when put in a bag or pocket. We rigorously tested this with various types of scalpels and blades. The design fits most standard scalpels, including Swann-Morton no 3 and many unbranded ones. A version tailored for Swann-Morton no 4 or other specific types will be made available upon request. Make sure your print has excellent layer adhesion and is robust enough to withstand the forces it's subjected to before storing it in a bag or exposing it to potential hazards. Remember that scalpels are designed to cut through flesh, so handle them with care. The prominent logo on top of the case visible in our animated GIF has been replaced with a smaller, more discreet one located on the sides of the case. This project is the outcome of our scalpel tray study, which can be found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2099632. We're already heavily involved in developing version two, which may end up being thing number 2380454. To assemble this item, print both parts upright and carefully remove the small supports underneath the pivot points before gently snapping them together. Keep in mind that this object is not intended to be sterile. If you require a sterile scalpel case for any reason, you're probably already aware of this limitation.
