I'm a human using a specialized sharpener designed specifically for the most commonly used standard blade. I understand that these blades are typically intended for one-time use only, but I don't see why I shouldn't be able to sharpen and reuse them for much longer. This sharpener seems to make it easy and quite accurate to sharpen blades. The print itself is also simple and fast. However, the device feels a bit unfinished: is the angle at which the blade is sharpened correct (2 x 15 degrees)? Is the slot too deep or flat? I printed this sharpener with a layer height of 0.2 mm using various PLA filaments shown in the print, and found that I needed to smooth out the surface a bit. To use this sharpener, simply secure it in a vice, insert the scalpel into the slot, making sure it's oriented parallel to the device, and then grind it with a grinding stone. If anyone has used this sharpener, I'd appreciate feedback on whether it works for you or not. If not, please let me know what issues you encountered. As always, I've attached the project file in Fusion 360 format.
