SCALEPRINT TUDOR TILES TT560 TO TT579
thingiverse
This is the fourth lot of twenty tiles that I created for building Tudor houses in my scale model railway, specifically designed for a 00 scale (4mm to the foot) but also suitable for HO scale British themed models and beyond. The cover photo showcases more elaborate buildings made using these tiles, and I will upload all the printable parts required for them, along with some example pictures of other creations I've already built. Feel free to let your imagination run wild and come up with unique designs that inspire you. Another display case featured in the cover photo is one of fourteen models arranged into a compact diorama, which I gave to my family and friends as a Christmas gift back in 2014. This model represents my proudest achievement among all those that year - I presented it to my mother, so it's something I treasure deeply. They make great display pieces not just for scale railways or wargaming, but they can also spark admiration from other family members, which I think is lovely. So far, I have designed about one hundred tiles in this set; I will continue uploading them in lots of twenty tiles. I store my tiles in divided plastic containers, and when it's time to create a new design, I simply select the necessary tiles and assemble them with glue, which makes the process similar to playing with Legos. If you have any questions about anything posted here, feel free to ask! Additionally, if there are any specific models or designs that catch your eye, let me know - while I can't guarantee a response, I'll certainly take them into consideration. By the way, please be sure to check my other posts related to model making. Why not join the SCALEPRINT group as well, where we all gather together in one place? In this group, we can share knowledge about our creations and post tips and tricks learned from years of modeling experience. Print Settings: I print with the Orbot Hardron printer along with a modified Flashforge and ToyRep; however, any model printer can be used for these tiles since settings like rafts or supports do not play a significant role in this case, thanks to their tile structure that inherently minimizes warping risk during printing. The ideal nozzle diameter varies but starts from 0.1mm to reach the best quality. In terms of nozzle choice for optimal prints, I use either a 0.4 mm or a 0.2mm nozzle with equally pleasing results. PAINTING: For black and white painting on Tudor buildings, Humbrol's matte paints stand out; specifically, Matt Black (Humbrol No. 33) provides an attractive look for darker colors, while the Matte White paint offers clarity not achieved by acrylic-based counterparts that exhibit sheen.
