Scaled Water Tower
thingiverse
I dissected this model into three distinct sections and implemented modifications to link them seamlessly together. This design allows it to be effortlessly disassembled and reassembled whenever needed. Due to its considerable height, storing and maintaining it as a single piece can be quite cumbersome. To facilitate easy connection and disconnection of the pieces, I incorporated pegs and holes into the legs and tank bottom. Additionally, I added "concrete" mounds at the legs for enhanced stability, enabling the model to stand independently with greater ease and allowing the print to adhere more securely to the base-plate. I divided the tank into two separate parts and hollowed out its interior as much as possible while maintaining a weight that seemed satisfactory. This is the only section requiring supports. You can create them either along the top (with the tank upside down) or within the inside (with the tank right side up). I opted for the former, and the residual patterns from the support added a pleasant texture to the top that I appreciate. This print turned out remarkably well with wood filament, showcasing its unique characteristics.
