Scale Pennsylvania
thingiverse
This is an intricate model of the state of Pennsylvania generated from the United States Geological Survey's vast database of geographical information. I encourage you to freely manipulate the files, scaling them up or down, printing them out as desired, or even decorating them with your own artistic touch. Please be aware that these creations are a part of my ongoing project, and they are not intended for resale. I am delving into the rich culture and history of Pennsylvania through this meticulous mapping process, which allows me to thoroughly mine the state's unique character. Please note that if you decide to print any of the maps, or make changes to them in any way, I would greatly appreciate it if you could email me at printingpennsylvania@gmail.com. The images above are a testament to the capabilities of my current model, showcasing these printed and altered maps at a 1/2 scale compared to their full potential. This entire piece is undergoing a transformation, as I carefully coat it to give it the look and functionality of a traditional chalkboard. This is an exciting development that will soon allow you to experience Pennsylvania's story in a fresh and dynamic way. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and participation! Piece 136 presented some technical challenges during my testing phase. If anyone is able to find a solution to overcome these issues, I would be grateful if they could share it with me. In the meantime, please refer to the attached gcode file, which enabled me to successfully print out Piece 136. Here are the printing instructions: Printing this model requires high-quality PLA plastic as the only material that has been thoroughly tested so far. To achieve optimal results, set your printer's layer thickness to a precise 0.3mm and maintain a fill ratio of at least 10% during each layer.
