Scale 1/12~1/14 RC Bulldozer
thingiverse
This is a small ~1/12 scale bulldozer based on Erdinger's Excavator tracks. The N20 geared motors lifting the blade will get uneven and bind, so you'll need to work out a way to get them back on level. Ask in the comments for how I solved this problem if you're not sure. ------------------------------------------------------------ With the parts available as of May 30, 2019, you can build a functional machine! I've started to add Cosmetic parts, glue these on where appropriate, or use small screws of your choice. I haven't cut the side grills because I plan to use them to kinda wedge the cabin top in place when you put the top on. Glue them only to the cabin top and not to the bottom; they will lift off with the cabin top. ------------------------------------------------------------ ***3D printed parts list:*** * One of each part, except: + 2x Dozer_Tilt_Cylinder + 10x Track_Middle_Wheels_MOD_2 + 33x Track_Pad_Left (+/- 1) + 33x Track_Pad_Right (+/- 1) + 2x Lift_Cylinder_Shaft + 2x pwrWhlStabi + 4x counterwheel (1 half per STL gives 2 complete wheels glued) + 2x trackGears (2 parts per STL gives 2 complete wheels glued) + 68x 29mm lengths of your favorite 1.75mm filament to make track pad pins (Melt at each end with soldering iron or heated screwdriver tip) ***Non-3D printed parts list:*** * 2x N20 geared motors with M4x55 shaft (Lifting cylinders) + See picture, cost about $3/each on Ali + 400 RPM is very slow but strong + 600 RPM seems to be the sweet spot between speed and torque + 1000 RPM is too easy to stall; will not work * 2x Servos modified for constant rotation (Tracks) + Either buy them or make them yourself, Google "pwm servo hack" + The speed/torque of the servo will determine the speed/torque of your dozer, so pick accordingly! Mine are Tactic TSX45, about right on speed/torque * 2x Mini 10amp ESCs without brake (For the N20s) + Available for about $8 or less on Ali * 1x LiPo 2s 5000mah hardcase + Not sure yet about the retaining system I'm gonna use; probably Velcro... + Put 2 of them in parallel (same voltage, double the mah) for more weight * 1x 4 Channels (min.) Transmitter w/ mixing and matching receiver + OR a Sabertooth ESC, you would then completely remove the track servo circuit boards and connect the servo motors right into the Sabertooth * 1x BEC module to power the receiver (Castle BEC 10amp or similar) + OR power your receiver from your own 6v power source + If you use a BEC, don't forget to remove the red wires from the Mini10 ESCs receiver plug, leaving the ground and signal wire there. * A butt-load of M3 screws of different lengths; M3 nylock nuts. Better buy a 250 variety pack on Ali and make sure you've got at least 10x M3x40mm / M3x45mm screws because they're uncommon and you need them for the track idler wheels
