UPDATE 2022-05-12Although the first version of this design worked pretty well, I wasn't totally happy and decided to redesign some elements and added a way to keep the shelf aligned with the wall mount bracket. Here's a list of some of the changes /improvements:The wall mount for the shelves can be used with any of the shelves.Added a rectangular shelf version without rotating shelves/drawers.Added slots and pins so the outer edges of the shelves are better supported when hung on the wall.Added chamfers to the shelf parts to help with rigidity.Changing user parameters should be less likely to break things in the timeline ;-)If you downloaded this model previously, please download again to use the updated files.<end update notes>Show off your 3D printed treasures with this bundle of scalable wall shelves. There are 4 different shapes of shelves: a semicircle, a rounded rectangle, a 3-sided half-hex , and a 4-sided half-hex.The rounded rectangle shelf includes 2 smaller shelves that rotate out. These smaller shelves can be flipped over so they function as drawers for handy storage. Use M4 screws and nuts for mounting the small shelves/drawers. Height of your shelf will determine the length needed. As designed, you'll need a 35-40mm M4 screw.Everything was designed in Fusion 360 and built with user parameters to make scaling these shelves easy. Fusion 360 source files are included so you can edit user parameters and go as small (within reason) or as big as your build plate will allow.I have included a set of STL files for 100mm radius shelves. the width is double the radius and the distance from the wall is close to the radius size.I have also included several 3MF bundles in various sizes ranging form a 60mm radius up to 140mm radius)Finally, you will find a base wall mount and bracket to use as a starting point to create your own design. There are also test mount and bracket pieces that you can quickly print to test the fit of the dovetail joint. Depending on your printer and nozzle size, you may need to adjust the “dovetailClearance” parameter so parts slide together easily. You want a snug fit, but not so tight it's difficult to remove. I found a 0.15mm works well for me for both .4 and .6 nozzles. The .6 nozzle does require more filing/sanding to get a good fit.These shelves are mounted using an angled dovetail joint. The angle helps support the shelf better by reducing the vertical forces and adding some horizontal forces on the joint on the opposing faces.
