IT WORKS!! Laser cutter gantry is a go! Check out the 3mf file in windows 10 - builder and viewer are up and running. This experiment was to see if I could accurately model then realize a CNC gantry in 3d builder. It's coming along nicely, freehand style! Edit: sideblocks have been reworked to give more workable area. TO DO: Model laser mount to 8mm smooth blocks - do I use one or two blocks??? GRBL UNO Software is up and running, steppers are calibrated at 398 steps/mm. Waiting on high torque steppers. (edit) they arrived! Has issues with parts lifting, but ABS build juice has helped on a hot bed as it bubbled and created a great keying surface... they come off eventually. The blue PLA didn't lift, the sideblocks work a treat! gt2110 belt is nice and tight. Endblocks to print. Looking like Monday 1/14/2019 for the full build... pics to follow.
