This OpenSCAD script calculates dimensions for a custom-sized Buildlog.net Laser 2.x machine based on desired cutting area. It determines required lengths of MakerSlide and other aluminum extrusions, as well as belt, drive shaft, and leadscrew lengths. The script also renders new skin panels to fit the scaled frame, generating a dimensioned part list for use with the standard Laser 2.0 BOM from Buildlog.net to create custom-sized machine parts orders. High-resolution 2D layouts can be exported as DXF files for ease of reference. The script has been tested and confirmed functional by multiple users. Download the file provided on this page, unzip it, and open "parametric_buildlog_laser_2.0.scad" to get started on creating your custom-sized machine.
