Sc-ifi Bin (Trash Can) Signs

We had 2 identical black bins in our kitchen and constantly forgot which was for standard, and which recycling. i decided to print out 2 glyphs, but having a 3 D printer, it was easier to use them than to print out stickers and 'trash proof' them. The design Idea was to have a clean, futuristic sign that immediatelty suggested which was which, whilst still having the same mass, style and elements. The 3 arrows flowing is pretty universal for recycling, so I thought 3 arrows pointing away did a similar job. Aesthecally, I drew from some Star Trek labels, Skeuomorphic design ideas, but als, had been doing a lot of work on the 1979 Alien film stuff, so that was present too. Being slightly 3d, they are also useful for partially sighted users, and I printed them in purple and green, just to make the message even clearer. I do occasionally still put things in the wrong bin. but thats me being a clutz.
